STSR Appoints Interim Director For The Valley Area Februray 6, 2008
Recently the State Referee Committee was informed of concerns regarding the referee program in District 4B (McAllen-Brownsville-Harlingen). These concerns came from a number of stakeholders, including playing associations, local referee associations, and individual referees.
At the January 2008 SRC meeting, the District Representative for 4B, Narcisso Palomera, requested the Program Directors to conduct an investigation into the concerns. As a result, the Directors have determined that for an interim period, a special appointee will be assigned to oversee the US Soccer affiliated referee programs in the district as they pertain to those locations. This appointee will be the person to contact regarding all STSR business in McAllen-Brownsville-Harlingen, with the exception of scheduling/management of clinics. Clinic scheduling/management will be done directly with the STSR office. All other business related to registration, assessment, and referee development, will go through the Special Appointee.
Rudy Nino, a National Referee from Houston, has agreed to serve in this role.
Effective immediately, questions or concerns related to South Texas Soccer Referees should be directed to Mr. Nino.
